We are #DeWGap Proud to offer group therapy to our PHP clients five days per week. Led by Masters-level clinicians, our program aims to break down the barriers to treatment and alter the stereo-typical view of mental health and substance abuse treatment.
By treating the similarities and not the differences, patients work through problems by interacting with others with similar struggles in a safe and therapeutic environment.
During confidential group meetings, members share personal experiences, feelings, struggles, and victories while receiving feedback and support from the rest of the group. Individuals develop communication skills and socialization skills and learn how to express their issues and accept criticism from others. Our excellent clinicians model healthy behaviors and ways of relating to others in a nurturing and supportive way. This type of setting encourages positive interactions and growth opportunities.
This non-stigmatizing approach to treatment reduces feelings of loneliness and isolation. Clients will experience a reduction in stress, depression, anxiety and fatigue. This allows all group members to speak openly and honestly about feelings while improving their ability to cope with life challenges and remain motivated to manage chronic conditions.
Group sessions are tailored to the needs of the group and can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Seeking Safety, etc. Each group session is uniquely different and dependent on the group members’ needs.
