Water Gap Wellness Center is one of the premier Mental Health and Addiction Treatment facilities in the Northeast US. Located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on the PA/NJ border, Water Gap Wellness dually licensed to provide an individualized, holistic wellness program to treat individuals who have a primary mental health diagnosis, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder.
All clients receive intensive clinical therapy regardless of whether they have completed inpatient or residential treatment for a mental health, behavioral health and/or substance use disorder. Clients benefit from a comprehensive, structured level of step-down support that fosters transition to a more independent lifestyle.
Water Gap Wellness is currently looking for a Business Development Representative to services Central and North Jersey. This person represents the facility in assigned markets to include hospitals, crisis units, physicians, mental health professionals and other assigned groups or agencies. Collaborate closely with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, and management, as well as provide education staff to generate referral sources.
This position will promote our programs in community service areas communicating our entire spectrum of services through direct personal contact with existing and potential referral sources, while providing services in support of referrals and contributing to the welfare of challenged alumni, clients and families.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as a facilitator between the referral sources and our treatment centers regarding admission communication follow-up.
- Consistently gains customer commitment throughout the referral process.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key referral sources including hospitals, unions, employee assistance programs, other substance abuse providers, private practitioners, courts, law offices, schools, and recovery advocacy groups to meet and exceed census goals.
- Develops an individual territory plan, using a unique territory approach, identifying, developing, and maintaining specific referral account activities.
- Execute analysis of assigned region and create strategic plans.
- Offer clinically informed tours of our facilities to potential or existing referral sources
- Act as a liaison to professional referents to promote Water Gap Wellness services
- Professionally represent Water Gap Wellness at networking events, conferences, and meetings
- Identifies the most viable, potential referral sources/payers within the target markets and determines how to access those sources.
- Draft communications to prospective referral sources and appropriate community resources
- Accurately refer clients to the organization with an understanding of appropriateness and level of care
- Maintains thorough understanding of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and current positions in the market and reports any updates or changes Chief Marketing Officer of Business Development.
- Job Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ proven sales experience.
- Preferred experience selling in the Behavioral/Mental Health sector.
- Experience in developing strategic plans and accurate forecasts for territory and accounts.
- Excellent public speaking and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and expand relationships with key executives and decision makers within each customer organization in the territory.
- Results driven – documented success in exceeding goals or objectives.
- Experience in developing strategic plans and accurate forecasts for territory and accounts.
- Bachelor’s level degree or higher in business or job related medical or mental healthcare discipline is a plus.
- Experience working with in Behavioral health, addiction or 12 step program environment proffered
- High School Diploma required
