Medication Technician

Water Gap Wellness is seeking an Certified Medication Technician to come and join our team!

Full time / 32 -40 hours per week including e/o weekend /Health Dental and Vision Paid Time off

Part time 24 – 32 hours per week

Responsibilities include:

  • Stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.
  • Organize medications to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions. Also prepare labels, calculate quantities, and assemble intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
  • Assist health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work space by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintain records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.
  • Generate revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
  • Ensure medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments.
  • Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • Organizational skills, expert attention to detail, excellent communication and ability to multitask is required
  • Must have high level of confidentiality and integrity is required
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, hospital and or healthcare or service setting
  • Previous experience as a Certified Medication Technician required
  • PTCB National Certification Education, preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • East Stroudsburg, PA 18301: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Mental health counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Medication administration: 1 year (Required)
  • Behavioral health: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Medication Technician (Required)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Preferred)
