Water Gap Wellness Center is Looking for a Wellness Assistant!

Water Gap Wellness Center is one of the premier Mental Health and Addiction Treatment facilities in the Northeast US. Located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on the PA/NJ border, Water Gap Wellness dually licensed to provide an individualized, holistic wellness program to treat individuals who have a primary mental health diagnosis, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder.

All clients receive intensive clinical therapy regardless of whether they have completed inpatient or residential treatment for a mental health, behavioral health and/or substance use disorder. Clients benefit from a comprehensive, structured level of step-down support that fosters transition to a more independent lifestyle.

To complete client admissions and screenings, assist with administration and stocks medication. Reports to Wellness Director of Client Care and Medical Director.

Responsibilities

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in healthcare preferred
  • Venipuncture and TB skin testing experience, current CPR, AED and first aid, Preferred 
  • Experience in addiction, mental health and behavioral health preferred. 
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is required for this position. If not CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within the state mandated time frame after first day of employment.
  • CNA certification from the State of Pennsylvania
  • Med Tech or phlebotomy certification a plus
  • 1 year + as a CNA preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive customer service attitude.
  • Associates in counseling, social work, psychology or another counseling-related field preferred.
  • One year of social work/counseling preferred.

Work Environment & Hazards

  • Risk of exposure to communicable disease. 
  • Possible exposure to intoxicated, disruptive and agitated patients.
  • Protected from weather conditions. 

Physical Demands

Light/Sedentary work – lifting 20 lbs maximum and occasional lifting and/or carrying articles such as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Involves sitting and a certain amount of walking and standing occasionally to carry out job functions. Communication is required.
