Dr. John-Paul Gomez is the Chief Medical Officer for Water Gap Wellness Center and an expert in the field of Psychiatry.
Known to WGW clients as “JP,” Dr. Gomez received his medical degree from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and completed his residency at Duke University Hospital. After residency, JP went on to complete a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University and a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
JP utilizes a holistic approach in treating both psychiatric and substance use disorders. JP believes that psychotherapy or mental health counseling, education and lifestyle management are essential elements in optimizing the use of biological interventions. His approach to mental health counseling is based on mindfulness and cognitive behavioral principles.
